First Deer of the Year

I got my first deer of the year last night. I went out to my little ground blind at about in the afternoon. I got setup and waited for a little while. Then, at about , a doe came out on my left side, but stayed about 60 yards away the whole time. About 15 minutes later a yearling doe came out close enough to shoot, but I decided to hold back for an older deer. I little bit later a doe and fawn came out, along with a nice little buck. He was a perfect symmetrical 8 point, maybe 2 1/2 years old. Another young 8 point came out about five minutes later, but I decided to wait a while and see what else would come out. At about a nice 3 1/2 year old 8 point came out and milled around for a while. I decided not to shoot him, because I'm going to wait till the rut draws nearer to hopefully fill my buck tags with bigger deer. Five minutes later a little 4 point came out and hung around for a while. At around , a big bodied spike showed up on my left but stayed about 60 yards out, along with a doe and 2 fawns. At a little button buck walked about 15 yards behind me. Following him was a nice sized doe and a couple of smaller does. They fed about 40 yards away for about 10 minutes, and then the larger doe started coming my way. I got ready and when she was about 15 yards away, I drew. She saw me draw and went on alert. She took a couple steps and I shot. I hit her high right above the spine. I could'nt believe it. I watched her run off and saw her fall. I knew that the shot wouldn't kill her quickly, so I got out of my blind and eased my way of to where she fell. I put another arrow through her lungs and left her alone, until my brother picked me up. I had misjudged the range, so I used my 20 yard pin; I think I also punched the release. Next time I'm going to take a deep breath and calm down before I shoot. She was a 3 1/2 year old. 87 lbs live weight 65 dressed.
