Wild Game
According to information provided by Texas Parks & Wildlife, here is a list of the game available to hunt during the legally designated hunting season(s) in Texas.
Dove
- Each day of Central Zone Dove season.
Quail
- Each day of the quail season.
Squirrel
- Archery and Shotgun only: No closed season. Bag limit - 10 per day.
Coyotes
- Archery and Shotgun only: No closed season. Hunting during daylight hours only.
Rabbits
- Archery and shotgun only: No closed season. No bag limit.
Waterfowl
- Hunting is allowed each day of the Early Teal, North Zone Duck, and Eastern Zone Goose.
Hogs
- Archery only: (no bag limit) No closed season. Hunting is restricted to one half hour before sunrise to one half hour after sunset. Baiting is allowed for feral hogs.
Weaponry
Shooting hours
- For Dove, Teal, Rabbits, Hares, and Feral Hogs are from ½ hour before sunrise until noon and 3:00 p.m. until sunset.
Means restrictions
- Firearms restricted to shotguns with no larger than #2 shot. Non-toxic shot must be used for waterfowl hunting.
Special regulations
- A GEAR TAG CONTAINING NAME, ADDRESS, AND THE DATE SET ARE REQUIRED ON ALL HUNTING BLINDS, STANDS, AND FEEDERS.
- Use of mountain bikes are allowed. See Prohibited Acts for further restrictions.
- Only hunters are required to possess the APH Permit.
- Access to the lake for fishing is allowed through the Corps of Engineer managed parks year-round and no permit is required.
